Savory low carb waffles made with almond flour, eggs, ham, and shredded cheddar cheese. Seasoned with salt, pepper, and chives. The perfect breakfast.
Course: Breakfast
Servings: 2 -4
Author: Emily
  • 1 cup of almond flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dried chives
  • 4 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped ham
  1. In a medium sized bowl, mix almond flour, salt, baking soda, black pepper, and dried chives.
  2. Add eggs to almond flour mixture and stir to combine. Batter will be runny.
  3. Next, heat waffle iron, and grease waffle iron with cooking spray or butter.
  4. If using a Belgium waffle maker, place half of the batter in the waffle iron, about 3/4 cup (will make two large waffles). If using a normal waffle iron, use just less than 1/2 cup of batter to make four waffles.
  5. After placing 3/4 cup batter on the heated waffle iron, sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup chopped ham on top of the batter. Then close waffle iron and let waffle cook.
  6. Waffle is done when edges start to brown and surface is crisp. The cheddar cheese will melt and then get crisp as well.
